I plan to create a gigantor movement. Finally function will follow form! Creativity is all. Every marketer’s nightmare. Pure art, creativity, passion, emotion. Who cares if it sells! No one cares if it’s trendy, in style. Now it’s all about what it made you feel to create it. NOT if it has a use in the world.
What do I mean by that?
A dress that’s so heavy with artistic design it isn’t even wearable…
A website so rich in graphic design it takes an hour to load. But it’s worth the wait…
Hot pads your Mom sewed that burn your hands every time you pull the cookies out of the oven. But they’re just so darn cute!
I’m creating a site that will feature millions of things like these. If they do have a good function that’s fine, but we really don’t care. What really matters is the heart that goes into the creation of everything the human race can produce.
It will all start here:

Brilliant site. They really have an eye for color in everything. Just browsing for 5 minutes inspires me for a month or so.
I’ve been working on online circulars for iboats.com once a month lately. Each one takes a couple weeks to put together since there are like 6 to 10 pages full of copy, images and logos.
They are basically coupon pages, but viewed online and printed out rather than received in the mail. No, I take that back, we do send a print out of the first 2 pages in the mail with orders each month.
It’s been fun to create them since as a kid I used to look at ads we received in the mail with hot deals for the season and think of how I would have designed the layout and logo for the sale. Now I get to do it once a month.
Check out the landing pages for the circulars I’ve created so far this boating season:

Me, my brother and our family business have started a new project of making World Irish Dancer into a new and improved online Irish dancer community. It was my original plan to make the site into something like this, but I just didn’t have the means to do it.
Now that is a full on Willowrise and company project the re-design is under way. The look will be the same, but it will have so much more. Currently it’s, for the most part a blog, podcast (with mediocre popularity), forum, online feis, and a place to post free choreography.
After we finish creating the new functions, it will also be a place for people to connect with other dancers going to the same feiseanna as them, a reliable resource for Irish solo dress style advice and classified ads, a place to make friends and share your dance videos and photos with the rest of your school, and so much more. One of the coolest features I think will be a community blog on the homepage that any dancer can update!
So keep watching World Irish Dancer in the next few months for all the changes. It’s gunna be da bomb! There’s never been anything like it for the Irish Dance community.
